Dosage charts

The "Dosage charts" functionality from the "Staff" menu is used to define complex drug dosage charts for later use in order to issue e-prescriptions more quickly. After selecting this functionality, a list of defined dosage charts is displayed, with "Edit" and "Delete" buttons next to each of them. An "Add" button appears below the list of dosage charts.

To add a dosage chart, click the "Add" button. The addition is done in two steps. The first step displays a form for entering the name of the dosage chart.

After entering the name and clicking "Next", a form for defining the dosage chart and specifying for whom of the medical staff should it be available is displayed.

To define the dosage chart, click the green "Define" button. A new window will open with a form for defining the dosage chart.

In the definition of the dosage chart, you must provide the number of days of taking the drug and define at least one row specifying the dosage method (one such row is displayed by default). Dosage can be specified in one of three methods: taking a specific dose of the medicine at specific times, taking a specific dose of the medicine a specific number of times a day, and taking a specific dose of the medicine at specific seasons of the day. The dosage chart row shows fields for all three dosage methods listed, but only one of them must be completed. If the dosage chart changes during the treatment (e.g. the patient is to take 2 tablets once a day for 5 days and then 1 tablet once a day for the next 3 days), then more rows should be entered specifying the dosage methods, maintaining their correct order. To do this, use the blue "More" button - each click on it displays another row to define the dosage method to be used next. Empty rows will be ignored when saving data. If more than one dosage row is completed, one has to indicate how many times the patient should repeat taking the medicine according to the given method (e.g. "take 2 tablets once a day for 5 days" means that the number of times the patient should repeat taking 2 tablets once a day is 5). In the case of completing the dosage with taking the drug at specific seasons of the day, even if only one row of the dosage chart is defined, it is also necessary to indicate how many times the patient is to repeat taking the drug according to the given method (if only one row of the dosage chart is defined, the number of repetitions should be the same with the number of days of treatment). If one needs to redefine the entire dosage chart, one has to click the red "Clear" button to clear all contents of the dosage chart definition form. Once one finished defining the dosage chart, one has to save the entered definition by clicking the green "Save" button.

After entering the definition of the dosage chart and indicating the medical staff who will use the given dosage chart, save the data by clicking the "Update" button.

To modify the dosage chart, click the "Edit" button next to the given chart in the charts list. A form will then be displayed, identical to that for adding a chart, omitting the first step present while adding a chart, and filled with chart data. After making changes, save them by clicking the "Update" button.

To delete a dosage chart, click the "Delete" button next to the chart in the charts list. A prompt will then appear in which one must confirm one's intention by clicking the "OK" button.
